Third Annual Tennessee Local Food Summit

Saturday, Dec. 7 Dinner and Music at Corsair’s Distillery

 The Tennessee Local Food Summit, will highlight the impacts of local food on our health, our environment and our spirituality. In addition to a full-day of educational workshops and networking on Saturday at Nashville’s Trevecca Nazarene University, 333 Murfreesboro Pike, many of Nashville’s best chefs, including dishes from Husk, Perl Catering, Yeast Nashville, City House, and Juice Brothers  will contribute delicious, locally grown organic dishes for Friday and Saturday meals.

Kicking off the event on Friday, Dec. 6, will be an evening reception at Sloco, 2905 12th Ave. So., from 6 – 9 p.m. The evening will feature locally sourced hors d’oeuvres and selected speakers from Saturday’s program.

Saturday’s workshops will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with sessions on backyard gardening, urban homesteading, permaculture, and the affects of local food on health, the environment, spirituality and social justice issues. Included in the weekend and day fee, will be dinner and music at Corsair’s Distillery, 1200 Clinton St., #110. Music will be provided by Nashville’s own critically acclaimed indie pop rocker Will Kimbrough.

In addition to the Saturday workshops, there will be a 12 p.m. tour of Delvin Farms on Sunday, December 8th. The tour is free and open to the public.

The fee for the entire weekend is $100.00 or attendees can buy individual tickets for the different activities. The Friday evening reception is $20.00, Saturday full day is $75.00 and Saturday dinner and music is $25.00. For registration and additional information, go to http://tnlocalfood.com
