Im not a singer but if I was this would be something that I’d enjoy being a part of. It’s a chance to really use your voice and to sing some of the greatest music ever created. On top of that you’re working with the Nashville Symphony.

Here’s the announcement from the Nashville Symphony.
The Nashville Symphony invites members of the community to audition for the Nashville Symphony Chorus on Saturday, January 25. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the Chorus regularly presents significant works from the classical repertoire at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Directed by Kelly Corcoran, the all-volunteer ensemble performs twice each season with the Nashville Symphony as part of the Aegis Sciences Classical Series, in addition to Handel’s Messiah each December and a special concert of choral works each spring.
To schedule an audition time, please contact Eddie Smith, Auditions Coordinator, at chorusauditions@nashvillesymphony.org.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Singers should prepare a solo selection (art song, solo from an oratorio, etc.) no more than 2-3 minutes in length. Each person will sing alone with piano accompaniment before the director. The director may ask about your previous experience and check your vocal range. Each singer may be asked to sight-read and/or sing some aural recall exercises. An accompanist will be provided; please bring a copy of your music for the accompanist.
Singers will be graded on pitch, accuracy and intonation; rhythmic accuracy; dynamic control, phrasing, expressiveness and style; diction and vowel production; and tone quality, resonance, freedom and control. Vocal range and the volume of your voice are less important factors than accuracy, musicality and consistency of tone. Rehearsals are held weekly on Monday nights from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
